The New Year
The storm has past of all the Christmas related stuff that has transpired in the last few weeks. I am now preparing for a new year of music and worship and fun with my family. My latest toy is a second-hand Palm m105 which is about 6 years old I think. In technology years, it is somewhere between vintage and classic. My wife bought herself a brand new Palm and I am tempted to get myself a new one as well, but I will test drive the old one for a few months first.
I suppose the transition of one year into the next makes me all fired up about making fresh starts, getting organized, defeating the clutter, and streamlining all my weekly tasks. Basically improve my overall quality of life. Sounds easy, right?
Every New Year my wife's family has a tradition of picking out our individual theme verse for that up-coming year. My theme verse for this past year can be found on the banner for this blog. This year's verse: Matthew 6:33. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
I would love to provide everything that my family or my ministry team (or my own brain) needs or desires, but God's timing is perfect and his providence is sure. So, this year I want to put the advancement of the kingdom of my Lord as my first priority.
