worship in the city bio
My name is Kirk, and Jesus Christ has made me a new creation. From a very young age, I learned how to act like a Christian without really being one. So when Jesus captured my heart, I was saved from my own religious self-righteousness and back-door idolatry.
I learned to play music, write songs and play the guitar when I was just a kid. My father is a songwriter and performer, and so I grew up in rich, musical atmosphere. After I received a bachelors degree in jazz performance at the University of Tennessee, I started teaching guitar and leading worship at a small church.
I fell in love with Sarah, and we were married.
We moved to St Louis where I became the music director of New City Fellowship. Joanna and Samuel came along, and now I am a father of two.
